The Royal Enfield Bullet 500 is able to retain the old school looks but Royal Enfield has added few modern touches to this old warrior. The front of the motorcycle still has the huge powerful Halogen headlamps which is surrounded by a Chrome cover, it also has a small pilot lamp just like its predecessor at the front end of it. The Bullet 500 also has the single analogue speedometer with an odometer along with a separate Ampere meter which will also remind you of the old Bullet’s instrument cluster. Just behind the smartly shaped fuel tank you will find a comfortable saddle which is wide and cushioned and perfect for long rides, whats new is that the pillion rider gets a back rest in this updated avatar of the Bullet 500, but a little more back support for the rider would have been helpful. Come to the rear of the motorcycle and you will notice that tail lamp looks a lot similar to the tail lamps of the classic series line up of the Royal Enfield.
The huge engine seats in the middle adds the perfect balance to the motorcycle. The front wheels gets a disc brakes which ensures better stopping power. The exhaust has been finished in chrome which adds the macho image to the beast. The quality of the plastics in the switches has also improved a lot and now there is absolutely no complain about the plastic bits of this motorcycle. Overall the macho old school image of the Royal Enfield is still maintained in this updated 2013 Bullet 500. Previously the Indian motorcycle market did not had many options in this category of motorcycles but now there are plenty of options for the Motorcycle enthusiasts, so Royal Enfield will have to keep this in their mind.

Royal Enfield has been quite successful in retaining the old school appeal in their new updated bullet 500. The quality of fit and finish was an issue with the older Bullet specially the rust problems on the exposed metals, but there has been much improvement to the fit and finish quality in the new Royal Enfield Bullet 500 which is impressive. Still there are places for improvement in the Royal Enfield products take for e.g the engine still needs some modernization and increase in power afterall this is a 500 cc monster everybody will definitely expect some more power from the engine.
